member of Psychology Department at BYU from 1946-1975. He was the first
Assistant Superintendent and psychologist for the Utah State Training School in
American Fork, Utah (1932-1945). For thirty-six years, he served as clinical
consultant. Allen was the second psychologist to be licensed in the state of
Utah.Contains correspondence, personal and
professional papers, printed materials, photographs, and newspaper clippings of
Brigham Young University professor of psychology Mark K. Allen. His papers
include professional records dealing with the tenure and chairmanship of the
Psychology Department at BYU (1946-1975). Papers also deal with Allen as a
student and his faculty years at BYU, and his involvement with the Utah State
Training School in American Fork, Utah. Also included are 35mm slides; motion
picture film; photographic prints and negatives dealing with friends, travel,
and vacations; Allen's mission for the Mormon Church in New York City
(1927-1928); and the Utah State Training School among other
